Nana and Papa! Yay!

Jamie has been searching and searching for tickets to Hamilton and just happened to find a pretty good deal on tickets in Chicago on a weekend that Marc happened to be off of work. And being the generous parents that they are, they bought four tickets instead of two and Josh and I got to tag along. It was INCREDIBLE and definitely lived up to the hype. The boys had a ton of fun visiting with them for a few days before the play but the morning after the play was when the real party started. Well, the party ended with a trip to the ER for Oliver. He took a bad bounce at the babysitter's house and wouldn't put weight on his right leg after he woke up. Not wanting it to be another break, we took him into the hospital. Whew.
It was a doozy of a week that ended on a high note and then not so high note. But we are SO glad Nana and Papa came to visit and can't wait to see them again. The boys love them and I find myself extremely grateful for their love in our lives. Until next time! PS. They didn't find any fractures but decided to put him in a splint and give it a week to heal. Poor kid! He has spent more time in a cast/boot/splint this year than not!
Lion's Den Gorge was beautiful!

Papa kept calling him a
Mountain Goat. :)
Way to go, big boys!

Papa is pretty good at entertaining
little boys outside.

We love a good hike!
A little crunched for time (thanks for that, Chicago
traffic) but still smiling!
Busted out my Alexander Hamilton
for the tolls on the road to see Hamilton.
Woah.
Made it to the theater with about three
minutes to spare. Just enough time to
take a photo.
Amazing!

My favorite handsome Chap, right here.
Best Date Ever.
Thank you, Marc and Jamie!
In our haste to get to the theater we
didn't have time to stop for dinner. So,
overpriced pretzles,
peanut M&Ms and a granola
bar i found in my purse at intermission
 were the perfect substitute.
Marc, the Selfie King
Such a fun night!

I sure do love this guy...and Josh. I love
Josh most and I love Hamilton and
Lin-Manuel Miranda...but Josh most.
All smiles! The show was fantastic!

Delicious!

There is nothing better than dinner at
11:30, especially when that dinner
is Portillo's.
Snuggles with Nana.
Hospital visit with the iPad
Thanks for the fun week, Nana and Papa!
We love you.

Poor Oliver.

September

We had the pool to ourselves. My dream!
September has officially arrived and we kicked it off with a splash in Fred's pool for the Labor Day weekend. Josh was able to join us which made for an extra amazing time. The boys are loving being back in school but both have already missed two days because of a nasty stomach bug that was passed around. Other than that life is going on like normal, just the way I like it. :)
I love this family of mine.
They were a huge hit.

Fred sent us home with cupcakes.

Oliver decided to get into the holiday
spirit by trying on every hat we found
at Goodwill.

He is definitely the cuteness.

Oliver helped me rake up thousands
of acorns from our blessed Oak Tree.

We love afternoons with the guys!

Silly Oliver

Silly boys!
Our version of FortNight
Hooray for Home Depot Day!

By far the best Saturday of the month
for these boys.

Soaking up all of the park days that we can.

They now demand a silly picture every single time. :)

So excited about their lego creation at the library!

He loved the ball he got from the
doctor's office!
He is officially boot free! And we are
all crossing our fingers that it was
the last break for at least a year.

With the help of these disguises, I finally
have a child that looks like me. :)
Benji stayed home sick from school. I
caved and let him wear his Halloween
costume all day long.
Hopefully it helped him feel a little
bit better :)

Miles won the 'Respectful' trophy
at school and was so proud of himself.
Josh and I are so proud too! Here is what
his teachers had to say, "We are VERY PROUD
of him for ALWAYS being so
respectful, honest, kind, caring and a
great friend to everyone!"
