Their New Favorite Toy

We have found that the boys make toys out of everything we give to them and anything they can find. We have tubes from the breast pump in the toy basket, along with straws from my water bottle, and crinkly wipe wrappers. These seem to be some of their favorite toys! Their new favorite thing to do is empty out the toy box and play with the box itself. They are entertained for hours by this plastic box! It is a blast to watch them play peek-a-boo and wrestle over the box. It has resulted in some minor bumps and bruises, but we all think it is worth it to have such a fun toy around! Who knew that all we would need for entertainment was a see-through box?!
Let the fun begin!

Go, Miles, Go!

Miles, having the time of his life!

"Miles, I want to play now!"

Two can definitely fit.

Nice teamwork!

Too cute!

So much fun!

We love the toy box!

9 months old

Miles and Benjamin
Well, our first year is flying by and is 75% over, but we have finally come to terms with it. We only have a few more months before our little babies turn into young toddlers and we are determined to make the most of them. These past nine months have been wonderful and we are truly looking forward to the next big stages in the boys' lives. Here are some new things about them:

Benjamin

  • Weighed 19 lbs. 6 oz. at his nine month checkup (25-50th percentile).
  • He measured 31 inches long (95+ percentile).
  • His head measured 18.5 inches (90th percentile).
  • Benji loves being loved. He loves sitting on his parent's laps, being held, and snuggling after naps.
  • He gets frustrated when he has to move somewhere to get a toy.
  • But he is getting much better at his army crawl.
  • Benjamin gets grumpy when Miles beats him to the toy he tried so hard to get.
  • He loves reading books.
  • He loves laying on his tummy in the tub and splashing water in his face, with Mom watching very close by.
  • Benji loves eating Cheerios.
  • He giggles every time he gets thrown into the air.
  • He loves watching Tarzan.
  • Benji loves giggling with/at his brother.
  • He loves talking to himself and makes the cutest little "diggy-diggy-dig" sound.
  • He finds almost everything to be funny.
Miles

  • Weighed 19 lbs. 10 oz. at his nine month checkup (25-50th percentile).
  • He measured 30.5 inches long (95th percentile).
  • His head measured 19 inches (95+ percentile).
  • Miles loves to explore. He has explored every room in the house on his own.
  • He is very okay entertaining himself.
  • He loves reading books.
  • Milo loves to eat.
  • He is getting very good at "crawling". It is more of an army crawl/scoot than an actual crawl.
  • He will get up on his hands and knees, rock back and forth, then face plant into his aquired target. It reminds me of a little frog learning how to leap.
  • He loves splashing in the tub.
  • Miles loves stealing his brothers toys.
  • He gets frustrated when he sees a toy that he can't reach.
  • He will follow me into the kitchen when I go to make bottles.
  • He LOVES getting thrown into the air.
  • Miles gets distracted by any electronic toy.
  • He loves watching the fan.
  • He loves watching Tarzan.

The boys are the best of friends and have so much fun playing together. They will wake up from naps and reach through their cribs trying to get each other, laughing the whole time. They sleep really well and get very excited when Dad gets home. They would go on walks all day, every day if I had the energy to take them. We love our sweet little boys and are so excited for the big adventures ahead!
Smiles for the camera!

fighting over the bear

Benji was a little mad I took it from them.

But couldn't resist the fun after a few minutes.

I should probably just get two bears...

Benji, trying to bribe him with love.

So sweet.

Our 2015 Thus Far

Out on a walk, our first Sunday back. They
enjoyed it more than the photo shows.
2015 has started out great in the Murphy home. New toys from Christmas and 70 degree weather have treated us well. The boys are as active and happy as ever and we spend every minute of the day playing.

Miles, happy to be home!

I love catching these sweet moments.

They love books.

fell victim this time.
