First day of School!

I don't want to spend this whole post going on and on about how sad I am that school is back in session. Sheesh, I don't need to mention how hard it was to drop them off at school and then try to figure out my day without my favorite twins by my side. It was a doozy of a day so I won't spend too much time boring you with all of my emotions. Instead, I WILL talk about how excited they were to start school again! I ought to mention how Miles woke up at 4:30, ready for the day and thrilled that he got to see Ms. Huber again. I should write down how they were excited for new friends and new classes and the regular specials they missed over the summer. Benji and Miles are growing up, there is nothing I can do about it, but I can try to instill a love of learning always! I hope that they continue to love school as much as they have at Woodlands Elementary. Happy first day, boys! And time, PLEASE, slow down for me.

Miles was SO excited!
Tough Benji, ready for his
first day.
So pumped.

Best buds for life

Good luck with your year, sweet boys!

Going, going, going.

We tried to take advantage of all of our free time with only a few weeks left before school. We filled them full of...well, whatever the boys wanted to do with their free time! Parks, the beach, more parks, forts, and bus rides were the highlight of our time. And if the summer wasn't eventful enough, Oliver managed to make it even more exciting when he broke his foot two days before school started by taking a bad landing jumping from the cushion that was on the floor to begin with. Whew!
We are always going, going, going, and I'm thinking that his boot won't slow Ollie down much. Here's to new routines, slowing down, and healing some bones! Bring on the school year!
Thumbs up for climbing a tree!

His favorite activity!

Just out living their best lives.

Best buds sharing their favorite activity.

Is an evening with Dad really
complete without a silly hat? No,
no it is not.

Ollie loves his Dad as much as he
loves his Olives.

On an adventure to the bus stop.

Oliver even got a ride too!

He took his job of looking for the
stop VERY seriously.

Forts with Dad. Seriously though,
how does he come up with this stuff?!
Teaching that PBJ who is boss.

Cutest jam face I ever did see.

Miles made it across the rock
obstacle course at the park.
Way to go!

Benji did too. They were so proud!

X-rays for the Scoots.

Such patient brothers!

"Uh-oh!"
Poor baby. It was a long 5 hours
seeing doctors.
Celebrating the last day of summer
with friends at the Zoo!

There is no better way to celebrate the first
day of school than running through the
sprinkler afterwards. :)

Goodbye summer!

Grandpa comes to visit!

Grandpa wanted to get a good visit in with the boys before they started school and while we still had good weather in Milwaukee. He got here on a Thursday evening and left on Monday afternoon and we filled every day full to the brim. We went to dinner at Brewers Stadium, we went to the Zoo, rode a train, walked to the State Fair, caught a Sea Lion show, tried some famous cream puffs, spent Saturday in Chicago, and caught a late movie. We walked a lot and played hard and had a blast doing it. Thanks for the fun weekend, Grandpa! Hopefully we didn't wear you out too much.
Thanks for the yummy dinner, Dad!

What cuties.

Zoo day. Thanks for the ride, Dad!

Apparently it is a State Fair must.
Cream puffs!
The "rides" did not disappoint.

A successful day indeed.
Chicago was beautiful!
The boys had so much fun!
The Bean was on my must do list and it
was just as cool as I imagined!

Showing Grandpa his loose tooth.
Hello Chicago!
The underneath was super cool!
Looking good, Dad.

Deep dish pizza was a hit. Thanks, Dad!
So intrigued!
The boys LOVE the aquarium.

Such a beautiful skyline.

As if walking through Chicago all day wasn't
enough, a late night movie definitely topped
the day off. Go Spiderman!

Lake Michigan has never seen such a great
rock skipper.
